Over the last few years we have been testing a number of lightbars to get the best value for money. This is our entry level one, aimed at competitors who mainly do single venues.

This lamp bar from Osram differs from most as it has the LED's pointing backwards towards the reflectors, allowing the light to be focussed properly. This allows the bar to achieve a staggering 440m at 1 lux - far more than most achieve. Not only that, this bar gives a really wide spread of light - ideal for race circuits where there isn't a lot to reflect from.

At Anglesey, we were able to see the corner markers for each corner as we came out of the previous one - allowing Thomas to pick his braking point and lines with confidence.

Whilst we used this bar with some "Special" corner lamps, you couldn't actually see the corner lamps at all - this one is so bright. 

The only downfall of this bar is it gives a really wide spread of light, but it is quite a flat spread - not a significant amount of height. This bar suffers on the straights in Dalby (for example) where as you come down one hill, you can't see up the other side. For that requirement - please see Option 2.

Not only have we used this bar in the 107, we have also used it on our 205, using it to supplement the lamp-pod we already had. Other users include Andy Hardiman on Mull who used it in conjunction with his pod and described the light as "I don't know why anyone would need any more" - praise indeed!
